Bearsden North District Girl Guides beat the summer boredom at a week-long camp.

The youngsters from the 1st, 3rd and 8th Bearsden Guides pitched their tents at Vogrie Country Park in Midlothian and enjoyed various activities, including circus lessons and tomahawk throwing. They also headed to nearby Dunbar for a day trip to Foxlake Adventure Park and visited North Berwick.

The 40 girls were joined by 10 leaders.

Victoria Gartland, of 3rd Bearsden Guides, said: “The camp was a great opportunity for the girls to learn about pitching tents, cooking on a fire and develop their team-building skills.

“The girls really enjoyed their trip to Foxlake and got to try the assault course.

“Next year we are taking the Guides to Switzerland.”
