One of Girlguiding Dunbartonshire’s most deserving volunteers has been awarded with the Miss E M Napier Cup for her exceptional dedication to the county.
Sarina Robertson, lead volunteer for adventure, was surprised with the prestigious accolade following her most recent fundraising venture – the hugely successful firewalk.
The cup, which was first awarded in 1972, is given to a Girlguiding Dunbartonshire volunteer for an exceptional achievement. This can be for fundraising, an act of kindness, bravery, achievement in the face of adversity, doing something exceptional for Girlguiding or for the community.
‘Tireless work’
It was presented by Lorna Hamilton, who said: “Sarina has worked tirelessly over the last year supporting events, outdoor activities, units, Catterburn management and restoration, fundraising and so much more.
“Her endless energy, practicality and good humour has kept us all going during some challenging times this last year. She really is a star.”
Sarina, who is also a mum-of-four, said: “Although I know there are a lot more and better people out there who deserve this award, I was honoured. Thank you everyone.”
As well as the firewalk, which raised over £4,000 for Catterburn Brownie House repairs, Sarina organised the county’s recent scratchcard fundraiser, which also brought in thousands of vital pounds.
