A Vale of Level Brownie leader is set to take on a sizzling challenge to raise vital funds for a worthy cause.
Sarina Robertson, who lives in Dumbarton, will walk over fire in the hopes of raking in cash for Catterburn – which has hosted hundreds of West Dunbartonshire Brownies over the years for pack holidays.
The site’s Brownie House was hit by a devastating flood last year when a pipe burst, putting it out of commission for the foreseeable future, with the floor, roof and all its contents needing replaced.
Sarina, who helps run the 2nd Vale of Leven Brownies, said: “Everyone who knows me knows that Guiding means a lot to me. I give up lots of my time to volunteer to help the young children of today.
“Last January our Brownie House at Catterburn had a big flood and it’s going to cost so much to repair. This may just be a big house to some, but to us it’s part of the heart of Guiding Dunbartonshire. So many girls have visited this house and to some it’s their only holiday of the year and it’s an amazing place.
“It’s a place where we take the girls for pack holidays, teach them archery, put on events and let them enjoy the open space.
“We want to rebuild and make it great again, not just for our girls, but so we can start to let it to all young people in the community.
“Any little donation is greatly appreciated, and you won’t know how much it means to us all and for generations to come.”
